Dr. Athanasios Kokkas

Dr. Athanasios Kokkas earned his dental degree from Aristotle Dental School in Thessaloniki, Greece, in 1991. He then served two years as a general dentist in the Greek Air Force before pursuing advanced training, including a two-year degree in Advanced Prosthodontics at the University of Alabama.

Furthering his expertise, he completed a Maxillofacial Prosthodontics Fellowship at UCLA, a one-year Hospital Dentistry GPR at UAB Hospital, and a Master’s in Biomaterials at UAB—establishing him as an expert in all aspects of dentistry. He has been practicing in Citrus and Marion counties since.

When he’s not practicing dentistry, he is spending time with his wife and two sons. He enjoys taking family trips, outdoor activities, and flying his plane. Dr. Kokkas provides quality, compassionate care in a modern, clean, and friendly environment. His patients are not just patients to him, they are family.

This Dentist's office always goes above and beyond to make sure you're well taken care of. Dr. Montoya and his team are very knowledgeable, and supportive. What a beautiful experience with a beautiful team. They made me feel so welcome as soon as I walked in the door. The team was so very kind and knowledgeable. They explained things to me if I had any questions at all. I'm very grateful to have found this office and begin my journey with them moving forward.
